1500781 Furniture underframes; tables; chairs ANTOCKS LAIRN Ltd 15 April 1976 [15 April 1975] 15431/75 Headings A4H and A4J A furniture support frame comprises a U-shaped support member 1 having the legs of the U connected by a tie bar 10 having internal threads at its opposite ends engaging oppositely threaded studs 8, 9 on the legs so that on rotation of bar 10 the upper ends of the legs can be moved towards and away from one another so that locating bars 6, 7 carried thereby can be moved into and out of engagement with grooves 6', 7' in a furniture unit 2. Two such members 1 may be mounted at opposite ends of a table top 2. Member 1 may also be used with chairs. Member 1 may comprise tubular or solid sections of steel or aluminium, or laminated wood.
