Abstract

149,792. Easting, C. A., and Hill, P. Pridmore-. May 27, 1919. Hoods.-A cover for motor-cars, side-cars, perambulators, &c. comprises a central pivoted transparent flexible portion 1, preferably as described in Specification 108,334 and 109,601. [Class 103 (ii), Rail and road vehicles, Details applicable &c. to], wherein the wind-screen can be turned up to form an arch over the passenger's head as shown in Fig. 1, combined with a forward flexible portion 10 with side-wings 12 mounted on a spring-roller 6 on the forward part of the vehicle so that it can be drawn out and attached as by press-studs 14, 15 to the sides of the vehicle and the central portion 1. The forward portion 10 may have transparent panels 16, and when it is to be wound on the roller, the side-wings are first folded inwardly. A rear portion 17 having side wings, and mounted similarly to the forward position, may also be provided, and may be supported on curved telescopic arms 18, each arm being normally held collapsed in a socket by a spring. The central portion 1 may be in three parts hinged together, as described in Specification 152,765 [Class 103 (ii), Rail and road vehicles, Details applicable &c. to].
