Winds-creens.-In a combined wind-screen and protective shield for the lower limbs of the occupants of a vehicle, particularly adapted for the rear seats of vehicles with torpedo bodies, the shield 2 is formed of two portions 3, 4 connected by a central hinge 5 supported from the vehicle body, and the wind-screen is formed ot two sections 6, 7 hinged together at 10 and also hinged respectively at 8, 9 to the portions 3, d of the shield, so that the axes of the four hinges meet at a single point' 11. The sections of the shield and wind-screen together form faces of a deformable polyhedron, so that access to the rear seating-space is readily obtained by lifting up one portion of the shield 2 and allowing the windscreen to deform in accordance with such movement of the shield. When the shield is curved as shown in Fig. 1, the hinges 8, 9 are arranged on upstanding ribs on the shield, while flexible jointing material is preferably disposed at the point 11 to prevent the entrance of draughts. The hinge 5 may be supported at its rear end by means of a strut attached to the body of the vehicle. The outer edges cf the screen sections 6, 7 may be supported by posts 12 to which sidescreens may be pivoted.
