Abstract

Wind-screens. -A wind-screen, particularly adapted for vehicles with torpedo bodies, is mounted on the rear part of a shield, which covers a portion of the rear seating-space and protects the lower limbs of t'he occupants. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the protective shield consists of two portions 3, 3 connected by a central longitudinal hinge 4, each portion carrying a section 5, 6 of the wind-screen. Access to the seating-space is obtained by pivoting upwards one or other portion of the shield, one section 5 of the wind-screen being arranged in advance of the other section 6 to permit such movement. The screen may be completed by side panels 8, 9 and a small central panel 7 which covers the gap between t'he sections 5, 6. A strut 10 may be provided to support the weight of the screen and shield. In a modification, Fig. 4, the portions 3, 3 of the shield are hinged at 11 to a longitudinally extending bar 12 fixed to the rear of the driver's seat', and the sections 14, 15 of the windscreen are pivoted to a standard 13 mounted on the bar 12.
