Abstract
1494937 Containers JOHN WADDINGTON Ltd 21 June 1976 [9 Aug 1975] 33301/75 Heading B8P A container, e.g. for an Easter Egg formed from a blank, Fig. 1, e.g. of paperboard comprises a platform formed of pieces 18, 20 folded from opposite regions of the container, which pieces 18, 20 are adhered together and define a shallow V-sectioned support means for the Easter Egg. The container is preferably of hexagonal form with alternate walls within each of a pair of main panels 18, 20 tapering towards the top and bottom to facilitate stacking, and the pieces 18, 20 are hinged respectively to the main panels 10, 12 at crease lines 30, 32, being separated from said panels at cuts 26, 28. Crease lines 34, 36 along the pieces 18, 20 cause them to take up a V-sectioned profile on bending them out of the plane of the blank, and apertures 38, 40 locate the Easter Egg when boxed. The blank is initially formed as a flattened tube the panel 10 being attached to a glue flap 44 and one piece 18 being folded at a crease line 31 and having the folded part adhered to the other piece 20 so that the container may be erected by folding at lines 14, 16.
