1492805 Burners SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 4 Nov 1974 [6 Nov 1973] 47597/74 Heading F4T A burner for a lime-burning shaft-kiln comprising concentric tubes 6 and 8 in a cylindrical housing 4 which define passageways 1 and 3 for air and 2 for gas and distribution chambers with outlet orifices for each passageway placed one above the other is characterized by the tubes 6 and 8 and their respective supply lines 14 and 15 being partially formed by corrugated tubes 10 and 11 and 16 and 17. Such an arrangement reduces stress due to temperature fluctuations. The air and gas mix in the lime kiln to produce a slow-burning zone over a comparatively large volume of the kiln.
