Abstract

148,654. Rosher, C. H., Hird, G. F., and Osborne, F. W. May 9, 1919. Studs.-In a stud having a removable head and an auxiliary base between which and the main base the material is received to prevent loss of the stud, the head member comprises a head 1, Fig. 5, hollow shank 2 having an enlarged recess 4 and carrying the auxiliary base 3, the mouth 10 of the hollow shank being flared. The base member comprises a main base 6 and a bifurcated springy stem 7 having an enlarged end 8 adapted to snap into the recess 4 to lock the parts together. In a modification, Fig. 14, the head 12 has a bifurcated stem 14 and the base 18 has a hollow stem 19 with enlargement 20 into which the end of the stem 14 snaps. The auxiliary base 16 is carried by a sleeve 17 which fits over the hollow stem 19.
