Abstract

209,625. Lightwood, M. Feb. 28, 1923. Convertible pipes and holders; mounts. - In a tobacco pipe in which the stem portion has a bore adapting it to serve as a cigarette holder, the forward end of the stem portion is . protected by a ferrule held by a pin the head of which engages an annular groove on the bowl portion and a straight groove at right-angles thereto to hold the two portions together. The stem portion 2 has a straight-bored portion 3 and a shoulder 7 for the reception of a cigarette and is protected by a ferrule 6 held by a pin 8. The bowl portion 1 has a reduced end 5 fitting into the stem portion 3 and provided with an annular groove 9 and a straight groove 10 by which the head of the pin 8 is made to engage the groove 9 so that the two portions are firmly secured when the appliance is used as a pipe.
