Abstract

1475585 Instantaneous water heaters ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 30 June 1975 [15 July 1974] 31265/74 Heading F4A [Also in Division F2] An electric water heater comprises a tank 1 having a double spiral immersion element and supplied with water from an inlet pipe 4 via a solenoid valve 5 and needle valve 6, a push button switch 8 simultaneously operating the solenoid valve and the immersion element, the latter via a thermostat 9. The rate of flow of water is adjusted by the control knob 7 of the needle valve 6, the heated water leaving the tank 1 via an outlet pipe 16 and plastics rose 17, a rotatable pipe coupling 15 allowing the pipe 16 to be moved in a horizontal plane. The control knob 7 and push button switch 8 protrude through apertures in an outer cover (not shown).
