Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a heater by controlling the circulating amount of coolant of an engine in response to the temperature. CONSTITUTION:A flow control valve 11 is provided at a coolant circulating conduit 41 and capable of operating via a diaphragm actuator 12 connected to an electromagnetic control valve 13. Thus, an ignition switch 14 is closed. Even if an engine 5 is started, a water temperature switch 16 is opened when the engine coolant is lower than predetermined temperature so as not to energize the electromagnetic coil 13d of the vavle 13. An inlet port 13c communicates with an outlet port 13a. Accordingly, atmospheric pressure is applied to a diaphragm 12c to allow a valve body 11a to leftwardly move by the operation of a spring 12d to completely or almost close the valve 11 to thereby circulate almost all or most engine coolant not through a radiator 3. Thus, the engine coolant is abruptly heated to improve the efficiency of the heater.
