Abstract
The cooling system comprises a radiator (102) connected to the internal combustion engine (101) by inlet (103b) and outlet (103a) pipes. Between these is connected a bypass pipe (103c), a thermostat controlled valve (105) being fitted at one junction. When cold, a pump (104) conveys minimum water (106) through the bypass. A temperature sensor (112) on the engine has its output compared (113) with a reference voltage to control the pump motor (111). After rapid warm-up, the pump reaches maximum speed and a similar comparison from the same sensor controls the electric fan (108,109) as the bypass closes and the radiator circuit (107) opens.
