Abstract

Cooling water from a tank is pumped through the non-return valve to the engine. When starting at low temperature a further valve is opened to allow the water to flow through the heater before reaching the engine. The water then flows through the thermostatic valve which controls the volume flowing to a final cooler and how much flows to the primary cooler via the valve to the final cooler. One valve is controlled by the position of the fuel injector which in turn is controlled by the speed control.
