Abstract
147,057. Haaga, E. May 26, 1916, [Convention date]. Circular machines; knitted fabrics.-Lining, plush, and other multiple-thread fabrics are produced on machines with radially disposed bearded needles by means of single-nibbed sinkers 1 or 13, with or without auxiliary knocking-over sinkers 14. According to one method of working, after a course a of ordinary loops has been worked, a lining, thread b is sunk, and by the action of a notched presser wheel which misses some of the beards, loops connected by long float threads are brought into the unpressed beards. A " connecting thread " c is then sunk on all the needles, and the course b is knocked-over on the course c. A " face thread " d is then sunk on all the needles, and is taken under the beards, after which the course a of ordinary loops is knockedover the courses c and d, together completing the cycle. Fig. 27 shows a double-lining fabric, the extra lining thread e being inserted similarly to b but held on different needles. A pile thread f can also be inserted, the loops being sunk to any depth required.
