Abstract

146,484. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. Oct. 2, 1917, [Convention date]. Projectile fuses.-Relates to percussion fuses having a striker B, which is driven in on impact to fire the fuse, and a cap A<1> which is permanently attached over the striker B to the fuse-body A and collapses on impact. According to the invention, the striker B is held away from a momentum striker C by a known kind of centrifugal safety device E, so that the fuse may be made sensitive as well as safe against accidental impacts. The outer end of the striker B is made like a tube b<2> which collapses with the cap A without firing the fuse, if subjected accidentally to impact before the centrifugal device has released the striker. A weak spring D holds the strikers away from each other during flight,
