Abstract

146,312. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. June 28, 1917, [Convention date]. Projectile fuses.-Relates to percussion fuses sensitive to impact in any direction and consists in. the arrangement of two pieces E in the corners of a square chamber a<3> so that one at least of these pieces will, on impact in a lateral direction, move towards the axis of the fuse over the conical projecting end b<3> of a striker B, and thereby wedge that striker inwards, producing ignition of a primer c'. This primer is also fired on impact in a longitudinal direction by the movement of the striker B or a striker C according to whether the impact is longitudinally backwards or forwards. The strikers are held away from each other in the safe position until the projectile is in flight by a centrifugal device D.
