Abstract

130,404. Naud, E. A. F. Jan. 24, 1917, [Convention date]. Projectile fuses. - Relates to fuses for rifle grenades and the like, and consists in providing in the stem e of the grenade that fits in the rifle barrel h a striker f which is adapted to ignite a primer c by being forced against it by the propellent gases, the stem e being connected at its rear end to a tube g of smaller bore. The gases, passing through the tube g expand in the larger bore of the tube e, so that their action on the striker is not too violent. The primer c, fixed in a holder b<1> at the base of the grenade ignites a time or instantaneous fuse. Vent holes d' may be provided.
