Abstract

146,170. Harvey Rim & Wheel Co., (Assignees of Harvey, L. B.). March 29, 1919, [Convention date]. Disk wheels.-The orifice 9 which is provided in one of the disks forming a wheel for allowing access to the valve is closed by a plate 14 held in a readily detachable manner by a spring bar 18 which is shorter than the longest and longer than shortest dimension of the orifice so that by turning it may be caused to engage behind the edges thereof. The bar 18 is secured to a headed pin 17 seated in a recess in the plate and is provided with V-shaped lugs 19 at its ends. The edge of the orifice has a flange 10 which rises as at 11 to a point in alinement with the shortest axis where it is provided with notches 12 into which the lugs on the bar are adapted to snap.
