Detaching from, and attaching to, permanent hubs.-Disc wheels 19 are detachably secured to the hub 10 between a fixed flange 15 and a detachable flange 23, the drive being transmitted by bosses 22 struck up from the metal of the disc and mating with recesses in the fixed or the detachable flange. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the recesses for engagement with the bosses 22 are formed in the detachable flange 23 which bears on a non-circular, preferably frustopyramidal collar 17, and is held by a nut 25. Disengagement of the nut is prevented by a spring-pressed detent carried by the flange 23 and entering a recess in the nut. In the construction shown in Fig. 7, the driving bosses 22 engage recesses in the fixed flange. The detachable flange 33 has a cylindrical bearing on the hub, and is dished so as to act as a spring washer when tightened up by the nut 25.
