Abstract

1456225 Photographic diffusion transfer colour material POLAROID CORP 5 Dec 1973 [7 Dec 1972] 56331/73 Heading G2C A photographic material having an exposure surface comprises a support and at least one composite photo-sensitive silver halide unit comprising a first photo-sensitive layer and, coplanar with and on the side of the first layer distant from the exposure surface, a second photo-sensitive layer containing diffusion transfer process dye imageforming material, in which the first layer exhibits greater sensitivity to incident actinic radiation than the second layer and preferably the mean silver halide grain size in the first layer is larger than that in the second layer. The material may also comprise an image-receiving layer. The mean grain size may be 0À2-3À0, preferably 0À5-2À0, microns. A layer of opacifying agent, or means for forming such a layer, may be present between the silver halide and image-receiving layers. In the Example the material contains two green-sensitive and two red-sensitive silver halide layers as defined above.
