Abstract

1, 024, 794. Photographic diffusion transfer process. GEVAERT PHOTO-PRODUCTEN N.V. Oct. 4, 1962 [Oct. 4, 1961], No. 37594/62. Heading G2C. In silver salt diffusion transfer processes images of improved sharpness and density are stated to be obtained by interposing a hydrophilic water-permeable layer containing colloidal silica between the image-forming and receiving layers. The interposed layer should be such that the complexed silver halide diffuses therethrough without forming a silver image therein and may be provided as a coating layer on a light-sensitive or a receiving sheet or as the middle layer in an element carrying all three layers. Various conventional features of diffusion transfer processes which may be employed in conjunction with the feature of the invention are described.
