Abstract

1378000 Photographic material containing ultraviolet absorbers FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 22 Dec 1971 [24 Dec 1970] 59763/71 Heading G2C A photographic material comprises a support bearing on at least one surface a first lightinsensitive layer containing an ultraviolet absorbing material such that the optical density of the light-insensitive layer at a wavelength of 370 millimicrons is at least 0À5 and one or more lightsensitive photographic layers, the uppermost lightsensitive layer and/or an optional further lightsensitive layer coated thereon containing an ultraviolet absorbing material such that the optical density of the uppermost light-sensitive layer in combination with that of the further lightinsensitive layer, if present, at a wavelength of 370 millimicrons is at least 0À5. The ultraviolet absorbent may be an organic compound or colloidal silver, titanium dioxide, barium sulphate or carbon black. The light-sensitive layer(s) may be silver chlorobromide emulsion(s) and may contain colour coupler(s). This material is optically shielded from the formation of static marks.
