Abstract
1,029,697. Photographic materials for making colour separation records. AGFA A. G. April 2,1964 [April 20,1963], No. 13667/64. Heading G2C. A photographic multilayer material suitable for the production of black and white colour separation records of multicolour images, comprises at least two silver halide emulsion layers coated on a common support, one of said layers being spectrally sensitized to a region of the spectrum to which it is not naturally sensitive and having a lower gamma response to light out of at least one region of the spectrum as compared with the gamma response to light out of the region or regions of the spectrum giving maximum gamma response, the other or remainder of said layers being sensitive only to light out of said region or regions of the spectrum of low gamma response of the former layer, having the same speed as the spectrally sensitized layer when exposed to this light and having a gamma response which is equal to the difference between the gamma response of said spectrally sensitized layer to light out of said region or regions of low gamma response and said region or regions of maximum gamma response, said material having the same gamma response to light out of the different regions of the spectrum for which said spectrally sensitized layer is sensitive. The material preferably comprises a support on unsensitized emulsion layer and a panchromatically sensitized emulsion layer. The emulsion layers may be on opposite sides of a transparent support.
