Abstract
1452921 Furniture joints S H TURNER 2 April 1974 [13 Jan 1973] 1912/73 Heading F2M A two-part connector for joining two panels 10, 18, e.g. panels forming a cabinet or container, consists of parts 2, 4 attached respectively, e.g. by screws 8, 16 to the panels 10, 18, the part 4 being enclosed by a skirt 12 on the part 2 when the two parts are assembled and secured together, e.g. by a captive nut 26 and bolt 24, to complete the joint, the skirt being inclined such that, after attachment of the parts 2, 4 to respective panels and upon tightening of the securing device, the edge of panel 18 is drawn into tight abutment with the face of the panel 10, the outer edge of the skirt then contacting the panel 18 so that both parts are engaged with the respective panels. In addition to the skirt 12, the part 2 has a lip 14 which co-operates with a recess 20 in the part 4 to further locate the parts for alignment of the apertures which receive the bolt 24.
