Abstract

1398186 Releasable fastenings M ARND 21 June 1972 [25 June 1971] 29168/72 Heading E2B A plastics or metal fastener for securing a panel 8 in a frame comprises a stud for entering a groove in the frame and having one or more backwardly turned barbs for preventing withdrawal. As shown in Fig. 1, the stud 6 has barb 4 with an abutment 5 at its end. The foot portion 2 is of cylindrical shape and has a limb 7 for retaining the panel, and further limbs 11 and 12 and a rim 13 for retaining a covering 15. Alternatively it may have a threaded hole to receive a stud. If desired, two barbs may be used (Fig. 3, not shown). Modified arrangements for holding the covering are described (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown). As shown in Fig. 6, the leg may have several barbs 29. The overall shape of the stud may be round, oval or rectangular.
