Dabei kann das Dichtelement entweder sichtbar sein, oder es ist durch die Karosserie abgedeckt. Gefordert ist ein Dichtelement, welches sich einfach und exakt montieren lässt, und welches fest und sicher am Scheinwerfer befestigt werden kann. Aus der DE 30 01 925 C2 ist es bekannt, eine Dichtung in eine Aufnahme eines aus Kunststoff bestehenden, umlaufenden Rahmens einzubringen, welcher seinerseits ein Scheinwerfergehäuse mit einer Streuscheibe verbindet. Die Dichtung dient der Abdichtung der Streuscheibe gegen die Fahrzeugkarosserie und wird allein durch Formschluss in der Aufnahme gehalten. Nachteilig dabei ist, dass die Passung zwischen der Dichtung und der Aufnahme relativ eng sein muss, wenn die Dichtung sicher in der Aufnahme gehalten werden soll. Der Rahmen muss daher auch eine relativ hohe Steifigkeit besitzen. Außerdem resultiert aus der Bauweise ein relativ hoher Montage- und Demontageaufwand. Ferner ist aus der DE 35 31 220 C2 ein Rahmen für einen Kraftfahrzeugscheinwerfer bekannt, der einen aus Kunststoff bestehenden Teil und aus einem aus Gummi bestehenden Teil besteht, die beide miteinander verrastet und zusätzlich unlösbar miteinander verbunden sind. Der aus Kunststoff bestehende Teil ist mit dem Scheinwerfergehäuse verbindbar, während der aus Gummi bestehende Teil die Dichtfunktion zur Karosserie hin übernimmt.
