Abstract

1446469 Spray carburetters FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 27 Nov 1973 54890/73 Heading F1B Idling mixture from a nozzle 16 which projects into the induction passage 11 and in the idling position of the throttle valve 13 is in a slot in the periphery of the valve is discharged into the gap between the nozzle and the walls of the slot during idle operation. The gap is of such a size that during idle operation the flow therethrough is at sonic velocity. The nozzle 16 contains a calibrated restrictor 22 and an adjustable metering needle 23. The carburetter is of the fixed jet single Venturi type.
