Abstract
1440689 Floating roofs for storage tanks AEROJET-GENERAL CORP 30 Jan 1974 [19 March 1973] 04343/74 Heading EIT A floating roof for a liquid storage tank comprises a single-deck lid made up from a plurality of rectangular, fluid-tight, interconnected steel plates having on its uppermost surface a plurality of buoys 39 each of which has as its base one of the plates 38 and longitudinal sides inclined toward each other such that the buoy is of increasingly smaller horizontal cross-section. The buoys may be in the form of a pyramid or truncated pyramid or be conical, frusto-conical, part spherical or part ellipsoid &c. For minor details concerning other shapes of buoy, tubes 47 for acting as structural supports and seal having a foam casing [62] with a steel bond [63] the Specification and remaining drawings (not shown), should be referred to.
