Abstract

1437521 Conveying yarns RHONE-POULENC-TEXTILE 24 Sept 1973 [25 Sept 1972] 44738/73 Heading D1F In a method of conveying yarn by means of a fluid as represented in Fig. 1, yarn 1 delivered by a component 2 e.g., the drawing unit of a stretching assembly, is sucked by a nozzle 3 to pass along a guide tube 4 at the outlet of which it passes through a free space 5. Yarn then enters nozzle 6, which sucks it into a tube 7 whence it is conveyed e.g. to a waste bag, or is mechanically diverted onto another path leading, for example, to a winding station. The tube 4, Fig. 2, comprises separate, coaxial tubes 8 and 9, a slidable and adjustable tip 11 of the former partially entering a bowl-shaped tip 10 of the latter to provide an adjustable aperture wihich enables a portion (up to 90%) of the fluid to escape and thus reduce the pressure in the tube. Tube 9 also comprises a longitudinal yarn-withdrawal slit (not shown).
