Abstract

1293832 False twisting AKZO NV 13 Oct 1970 [14 Oct 1969 (4)] 48640/70 Headings DID and D1F A false twisting apparatus comprises a bobbin 3 supplying yarn 1 via a guide 2 and feed rolls 4 to a hot pin 5 and steam heated oven 6 followed by a screen 8 and pneumatic twist tube 9 and an optional mechanical twist tube 20 and finally over draw and separator rolls 15 and 16 to a ring spindle 19. The pneumatic twist tube 9 comprises a chamber 10 whose i.d. is at least 1.2 times that of feed and discharge channels 13 and 14. The length of the channels 13 and 14 is at least ten times their diameter. The chamber 10 is supplied with air tangentially and has an enlarged diameter (21), Fig. 5 not shown, to collect solid debris which is discharged to atmosphere via collecting space (23) and channel (24).
