Abstract
994,811. Pneumatic conveyers. R. ZIPPEL. Aug. 21, 1962, No. 32040/62. Heading B8A. A nozzle for inducing suction at the receiving end of a pneumatic conveyer line for fibrous materials comprises an annular jet or annular assembly of small jets arranged generally in conical form or directed towards an apex lying on the axis of the conduit to produce an ejector effect which draws the fibrous material through the conveyer line entirely by suction. In one example tubular nozzle portions 1, 2, Fig. 2, are connected by an intermediate annular member 3 having an air inlet 5 and annular recess 6 for directing the air through a series of small holes 7 in an annular insert 4. In a modification, conically tapered ends of the nozzle portions 1<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 3, form a continuous annular nozzle 7<SP>1</SP>. The portions 1<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP> are adjustably connected by a threaded ring 3<SP>1</SP> having an annular passage 6<SP>1</SP> for the introduction of air.
