Work-holders.-Consists in modifications of the work-holder described in the parent Specification, in which a locking-member simultaneously secures both the pivoted members forming the fixed jaw in their adjusted positions. The members c, d, pivoted to a base a by pins r, are provided with bosses p having bevelled surfaces m engaging a locking-cone u mounted on a stud between the members and operated by a nut v: The pins r have threaded ends n engaging tapped washers s and locking-nuts t which are adjusted so as to hold the members c, d tightly to the base a, while allowing the required pivotal adjustment. The jaw plates e may be tapered at f to adapt them to force the work down when it is gripped, and may be secured by spring-controlled screws x fitted in elongated holes w so as to allow the downward movement of the jaw plates. Closing-plugs h may be provided to exclude dust &c. from the holes w. The locking-cone u may be fitted in the side of the base a and adapted to engage bevelled surfaces on the underside of the boss p.
