Abstract

143,373. Myers, C. T. April 30, 1919. Capillary - action lubricating.- Motorvehicle and like springs are connected to hollow brackets containing oil which is fed by wicks to the bearing-parts. A wick 17 conveys oil from a reservoir 1 to passages in a pin 13 on which the spring 23 pivots. A filling- opening is closed by a plug 20. In the case of a bracket having shackle arms, the oil passes from a passage in the pin 13 through one of the shackle arms to a similar pin carrying the spring. In a modification, the bracket pivots on a transverse rod, which is lubricated by passages leading from the pin 13 placed above the rod.
