Abstract

152,243. Lumsden, G. H. C. Dec. 31, 1919. Channels in springs.-A laminated spring for motorvehicles &c. is lubricated by means of holes drilled through the leaves d at points along the spring, the holes being closed at both ends bv oil cups and plugs k. l, which may be carried by a bracket held round the spring by a bolt m. The parts k, l may screw directly into tapped holes in the spring or on to screwed bushes inserted, in the spring. The holes in the internal leaves of the spring may have the form of slots so as to maintain the communication when the spring is under different loads. The leaves may be provided with grooves to distribute the lubricant. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 148,702.
