Abstract

191,530. Guy, S. S. Nov. 7, 1921. Oil-hole closures.-The head 5 of a shackle bolt 2 forming a reservoir 6 for lubricant has the filling orifice 9 closed by a spring clip 10. The clip is retained in place by integral flanges on the head or by making the head of curved form as shown in Fig. 4. Where an oil hole 19 is provided in the clip it is preferably diametrically opposite the detent 11 so that water which creeps under the clip edges is prevented from being carried round to the oil hole in the head on rotation of the clip.
