Abstract
417,684. Lubricating locks. JACKSON, L. MELLERSH-, Redroofs, Highfield Road, Bickley, Kent, and BEESLEY, R. P., 58, Birkhall Road, Catford, London. May 29, 1933, No. 15507. [Class 12 (iii).] Means for lubricating locks comprises a container or reservoir for receiving or holding a supply of lubricant and having a piece or pieces of felt or other absorbent material for conveying the lubricant to the appropriate parts. As shown, a container 16 fits within a recess 17 in the look flange 22 and has openings 18, 19 for passage of the lock bolts 13, 15. An oil opening 21, which may have a spring controlled ball valve, is provided. The container, around the openings 18, 19, or the whole of it, may be fitted with felt pieces. In addition, the wards of the lock and the shaft of the handle 14 may be lubricated from a reservoir 23. This has a tube 26 leading to the wards 28, and a tube 29 which is branched at its lower end, each branch leading to a washer 31 round the shaft 32. A tube 33 may lead to the container 16 and in this case the opening 21 may be omitted. The tubes 26, 29, and 33 are filled with felt. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 410,597.
