Exciting. - A variable-speed constant-current dynamo has shunt field-magnet windings D, Fig. 1, mounted on the main poles A, B, a demagnetizing series winding K mounted on one main pole B, and a series winding E mounted upon a subsidiary pole C. The brushes F, G are set in the. neutral position with respect to the main poles; one of the brushes may have a wide span, as shown in dotted lines. In a modification, Fig. 2, the winding E on the subsidiary pole is joined between main and auxiliary brushes F, J.
