Abstract
1428241 Current transformer STROMBERG AB OY 27 March 1973 [7 April 1972] 14780/73 Heading HIT A current transformer comprises a hollow insulator 8 within which is a main insulator 2 comprising concentric elements of metal foil 10 alternating with insulation 11 with a winding 4 in core-portion 6 outside and winding 5 around core portion 3 inside, the two core portions being magnetically separated by the insulator 2. Connections are made by conductors as shown. The length of tube 2 is 2H + H<SP>1</SP> where H# the shortest distance to withstand the voltage and H<SP>1</SP> is the axial length of the core. The insulating cylinders 11 are longer than the foil cylinders 10. Successive metal foil cylinders are staggered axially by a distance H/m where m is the number of insulating cylinders 11.
