Abstract

1422372 Hold-open door hinges BLOXWICH LOCK & STAMPING CO Ltd 25 April 1974 [26 April 1973 18 Dec 1973] 19888/ 73 and 58686/73 Heading E2F A hold-open hinge, particularly for vehicle doors, comprises a first leaf 1 joined by a pivot pin 3 to a second leaf 5, having upper and lower parallel walls such as 6 which receive the pin and are formed with abutments 14, 15 designed to be engaged by opposed spring-loaded detents 11 mounted within the leaf 1. In the embodiment shown the leaf 1 carries spring loaded rollers 11 retained in slots by side plates 13, and the abutments on the second leaf take the form of grooves 14, 15. In another embodiment (Figs. 3-6, not shown) a bore formed in the first leaf contains a spring (26) biassing opposed plungers which can engage between studs mounted on the second leaf. Moreover a pin extends between the walls 6, 7 to function as a limit stop.
