Abstract

1,182,185. Security hinge. F. & C. GOULD Ltd. 23 May, 1968 [23 May, 1967], No. 23952/67. Heading E2F. A security hinge consists of spaced first and second members, 3 and 4 respectively of an elongated hinge pivot. A first leaf is secured to 3 and 4 and a second leaf to a first intermediate member 5 which is engageable for its part 11 in a recess in 3. A second intermediate member 6 fits inbetween 5 and 4. A pin 7 is slidable within the bores 10, 9 and 8b and holds the hinge members together in the position shown. The pin 7 can only be removed when the hinge is inverted which is impossible when one member is mounted on the door jam and other member on the door. The circuit wiring 13 of an electrical alarm system may pass through the bore 15 and 8a.
