Abstract
1418256 Drying and curing enamelled wire; burners ACROMETAL PRODUCTS Inc 31 Jan 1974 [31 Aug 1973] 04618/74 Headings F4G and F4T A drying and curing oven for enamelled wire 33 comprises a casing 1 having partitions dividing the interior of the casing 1 into an elongate work chamber 30 having opposite open inlet and outlet ends 31, 32, a combustor chamber 16 and air passages. An elongate combustor tube 62 is disposed in the combustor chamber 16 and has air inlet openings 72 at one end and an opposite open outlet end. One of the partitions comprises a well 17 which passes across the combustor chamber 16 and engages the combustor tube 62 to separate the combustor chamber 16 into an inlet chamber 18 to the inlet openings 72 and an outlet chamber 19 containing the open outlet end of the combustor tube 62. A burner 72 is mounted within the tube 62 adjacent the inlet gpenings 72. The air passages include an inlet passageway 43 extending from the work chamber 30 intermediate its ends 31, 32 to the combustor inlet chamber 18 and outlet passageways 46, 50 leading from the combustor outlet chamber 19 to the work chamber adjacent the outlet end inlet ends thereof and disposed to cause air in the work chamber to flow to the inlet passageway 43. A blower 44 imparts movement to air from the combustor outlet chamber 19 through the passageways 46, 50, work chamber 30 and combustor tube 62. Means, e.g. two valved inlet tubes 117, 118 are provided for admitting air from the atmosphere into the combustor outlet chamber 19 and the passages include a discharge outlet opening 36, 48, 49 from one 46 of the outlet passageways to atmosphere. Dampers 54, 55, and 60 are provided in the outlet passageways and a cross-member 39 is mounted across the work chamber 30 adjacent the inlet passageway to form a restricted portion in the work chamber. The burner 73 (Fig. 4) comprises an apertured skirt 81 having mounted axially thereon a pluralityof burner tubes 84. A passage 86 for fuel to reach the tubes 84 is formed between cylindrical walls 75, 76 of a feeder 74. The burner 73 is mounted in the combustor tube 62 by a generally cylindrical apertured mounting conduit 90 and the axial position of the burner within the conduit is adjustable by screws 109.
