Abstract

141,407. Dawson, Sir A. T., and Buckham, Sir G. T. Dec. 16, 1918. Sights.-Consists of means whereby the operation of the horizontal deflexion gear deflects the sights and simultaneously applies to the gun the training correction necessary to maintain the sight-line on the target. In the form shown, horizontal deflexion is imparted to the sightcarrier A through gearing from a hand-wheel A<3>, which simultaneously rotates a shaft C. The gun is trained by operating the training crank-handle B, thereby rotating a shaft B<1>. The shafts C, B<1> operate through a differential gear D upon a shaft E carrying the training-pinion E'. The operation of the hand-wheel A<3> deflects the sights and trains the gun through equal angles in opposite senses. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 146,317.
