Gunnery calculators.-Relates to director control mechanism for ordnance, torpedo tubes, and other apparatus involving differential correcting devices, and consists in providing between the driving and driven members a hydraulic system in which the fluid between the main input piston 7 and the output piston 10 is influenced by auxiliary correcting pistons such as 23, 35 each of which displaces fluid proportional to a desired function of its controlling member so that the output piston receives a movement in desired function of the combined displacements due to the main and auxiliary pistons. The invention is shown applied to the calculation of data for elevating anti-aircraft guns. The main input piston 7 is operated by the telescope 1 in following the target and communicates movement to the output piston 10 connected with the elevation transmitter 12. The vertical correction for speed of target is applied by piston 35, the logarithms of the time of flight and rate of change of range being added by the pistons 25, 26 and passed on to the piston 35 through an antilogarithmic cam 33. In a similar manner the logarithms of the tangent elevation due to range and height are combined by pistons 14, 15 and conveyed through the anti-logarithmic cam 21 to the piston' 23.
