583,360. Ammunition feed to automatic guns. NASH, A. G. FRAZER-. Dec. 10, 1938, No. 13994/40. Divided out of 583,410. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to means for supplying rounds C, Fig. 1, to large calibre automatic guns H by a conveyer D which delivers the rounds from a hopper or store A towards the gun by way of a duct B in which the conveyer travels. According to the invention, the duct includes a pivoted or telescoping portion F, constrained by a spring O, in which rounds can accumulate, thus causing this portion to lift and through links I, K to close the controlling valve L of a hydraulic motor N for driving the conveyer. The invention is shown applied to a system as described in Specification 583,410 in which the duct also includes a twistable section E to permit of elevating or training movements of the gun. Fig. 14 shows a construction in which the rounds after leaving the conveyer D and the duct section E pass through an extensible duct section 39 which has a vertical telescoping movement in guides 70 against the action of springs 68 to operate the hydraulic valve L through parallel-motion links 43.
