Abstract

278,356. Soc. la Precision Moderne. Sept. 30, 1926, [Convention date]. Sights.-The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes sights for use on a, special machine-gun carriage for single or twin guns of the Hotchkiss type. The carriage comprises a vertically pivoted frame 8 carrying the trunnions 10 for the breech end of the gun, the gun being elevated by a handwheel 14 concentric with the trunnions which rotates a pinion 13 on the gun cradle engaging a stationary toothed sector 9 on the frame. The frame 8 is extended laterally to support the gunner's seat 7 and the training hand-wheel 6 carrying the firing-grip 19. Open sights x may be carried by a bar 21 kept parallel to the gun by a link 23, or a known form of anti-aircraft sight corrector 27 may be supported on the frame 8. The corrector shown includes a pointer 26 set in the observed direction of flight of the target and apparatus for multiplying the speed of the target by the time of flight of the projectile. The correction is applied to the telescope 28 by parallelmotion links y. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
