Abstract
1413403 Anodizing aluminium; bath therefor SIEMENS AG 26 Sept 1973 [15 Nov 1972] 44988/73 Heading C7B Al foil is anodized in an aqueous bath comprising, per 1 of solution, 15g adipic acid, 16g boric acid, 12 ml 20% W/W ammonia and 1-90 mmol phosphoric acid. A first anodizing step may be followed by a second after incorporation into an electrolytic capacitor at a lower voltage e.g. 23V or 83V followed by 19¢V or 64V. The product is useful in electrolytic capacitors having improved residual current values.
