Abstract
1408519 Storage systems DEMAG AG 25 Sept 1973 [15 Dec 1972] 44881/73 Heading A4T A storage installation comprises storage bays 1, a lifting apparatus 10 for raising and lowering loads 3 for storage and a support frame 12 for bearing the load 3 on the lifting apparatus 10, the frame 12 being detachable from the apparatus 10 and having wheels 13 so that when detached it can be run along running surfaces 5 of a bay 1 to a required storage position where the load 3 may be released, the wheels 13 being movable between working positions for engaging the surfaces 5 and stowed positions for raising and lowering. To store a load, lugs 45 of the frame 12 are engaged with locking apertures 44 of the load, e.g. a container, and the frame 12, attached by locking pins 20 to a guide frame 15, is raised by the lifting apparatus 10, cables 8 of which pass round pulleys 18 of the frame 15. Rails 6 guide the frame 15 until it is located just above level of the running surfaces 5, e.g. rails, of the appropriate bay 1, and then arms 24 bearing wheels the 13 are pivoted outwardly into engagement with stops 26, whereupon the wheels 13 may be lowered on to the surfaces 5, gaps being suitably provided in the rails 6. The pins 20 are then released, allowing the frame 12 to be run along the rails 5 to the required storage position, whereupon the load may be lowered on to the bay 1 by lifting and lowering devices 14 each comprising a nut 31 and screwed spindle 32. The lugs 45 are then disengaged from the apertures 44, whereupon the frames 12, 15 may be reunited. Alternatively, Fig. 12, the arms bearing the wheels 13 may be mounted for horizontal sliding movement. The devices 14 may be operated by pressure cylinders (14a), Fig. 23 (not shown). The lugs 45 along with the devices 14 are preferably mounted on trolleys (40) adjustable on the frame 12 in accordance with the spacing of the apertures 44 of the load.
