Abstract

1296443 Masted lift trucks; storage systems; roller conveyers ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKAAB 7 April 1970 [8 April 1969] 16374/70 Headings B8A B8E and B8H Apparatus for transferring loads to and from selected storage racks comprises a lifting carriage 2 which is provided with a laterally extensible load support consisting of an inner part 15 secured to the lifting carriage 2, an intermediate part 18 movable on bearings 42, and an outer part 21 movable on bearings 24. The outer part 21 is provided with a loadengaging member 26 and a rack-engaging member 27 which are movable vertically relative to the part 21 by means of pivoted links actuated by rams, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown). In operation, to transfer to a rack 41 a pallet 40 supported on rollers 25 on the inner part 15, the parts 18, 21 are extended laterally from within the part 15 and the rams are actuated to raise the load-engaging member 26 with rollers 34 to the level of the part 15 and to lower the member 27 on to the rack 41. The rollers 25, 34 are then driven to move the pallet laterally and the member 26 is lowered to deposit the pallet on the rack.
