Abstract

1,059,096. Masted lift trucks; rollerways. ALLM€NNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB. May 26, 1964, No. 21651/64. Headings B8A and B8H. A frame 22 provided with load supporting rollers 24 is both vertically movable and laterally tiltable with respect to the lifting carriage of a lift truck. The rollers 24 are mounted with their axes parallel to the longitudinal axis of the truck whereby, on tilting the frame 22 by an hydraulic ram, the load moves under gravity to one side. In the lowermost position of the frame 22 on the lifting carriage, the load is supported by a pair of endless chains or belts 26 which extend up through spaces between the rollers 24, whereby the load may be moved forwardly and rearwardly. The lifting carriage is provided with an operator's platform. In a second embodiment, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), the endless chains or belts 26 are mounted on the truck chassis and only engage the load in the lowermost position of the lifting carriage. The frame 22 is pivoted directly to the lifting carriage and the operator's platform is mounted on the truck chassis. In a further embodiment, Fig. 7 (not shown), the load support comprises a plate provided with freely rotatable balls and pivotable about horizontal longitudinal and transverse axes in the frame 22.
