Abstract

1,099,027. Cranes. A. E. Q. VAN HEZIK. April 6, 1965 [April 15, 1964], No. 14631/65. Heading B8B. A crane comprises a jib 7, Fig. 1, rotatably supported on a circular track 8, the latter being mounted on a platform 5, 6 provided with supporting legs 3 which are vertically adjustable relative to the platform, are adapted to be locked in their adjusted position and have wheels 33 for running on rails (40), Fig. 6 (not shown), rollers 41 being provided on the underside of the platform 5, 6, at each leg to provide alternative supports for the platform. The crane is intended for use in the erection of a multi-storey building and is moved from one storey to the next by the platform 5, 6 being supported on the next storey by the rollers 41 while the legs 3 are raised to the level of that storey, Fig. 3. The jib has drums 12, 13 for hoisting a load and for moving a crab 43 along the jib. Each leg 3 has a toothed rack 21 which is engaged by a worm 22, Fig. 4, driven by a motor 39 for vertically moving the leg relative to the platform 5, 6 and bolts 30 are provided for locking the leg in its adjusted position. The wheels 33 are carried by sleeves (32), Fig. 6 (not shown), rotatably mounted at the lower ends of the legs 3 and are driven by motors 38. When the motors 39 are operated to raise the platform 5, 6, they move the platform parts to which they are attached in synchronism, their circuits being controlled by a liquid level. In alternative constructions the legs 3 and the crab 43 are moved hydraulically and the locking bolts 30 are controlled hydraulically. The motors 38 may be dispensed with, the crane being moved manually.
