Abstract
1403669 Ignition systems BRAUN AG 8 March 1973 [14 March 1972] 11351/73 Heading F1B An ignition system for a battery powered lighter comprises a converter which can be connected to the battery 1 by an actuating element 2, a firing capacitor 11 which can be charged by the converter through a rectifier 10, a firing transformer 12 and a threshold device in a control circuit of the converter which interrupts the oscillation of the converter when the firing capacitor is discharged. As shown the threshold device consists of a capacitor 9 arranged in the control circuit of the connecter, a resistor 16 in the discharge circuit of the firing capacitor 11 being connected to the capacitor 9 in the control circuit through a diode 17. In operation when a predetermined charge voltage on the capacitor 11 is reached the thyristor 14 fires and the firing capacitor 11 is discharged through the primary winding of the transformer 12 and the resistor 16.
